The process by which domains expire and are subsequently disabled and deleted follow
the following timeline:
- 12 Days after the expiration date the domain is disabled and all domain services (such as email/web) will go offline
- 30 Days after the expiration date the domain will be deleted, for domains which support redemption grace period a restore is now possible (more info in next section)
Renewal notices are emailed based on the following terms...
If the domain is service by a backroom
reseller the inital renewal notices will be sent to the backroom user's email address on file, which
can be managed from the config menu of the domain backroom.
If the domain is not in a reseller backroom, or hosting in a reseller backroom with no email
address on file the inital renewal notices will be sent to the admin contact. Also, if the domain is
hosted with Bluehill.com all technical contacts on
the account (managed from the My Account
Interface) will be CC'ed on the renewal notice.
Renewal notices are sent out on the following schedule:
- 15 days prior to expiration the initial renewal notice is sent
- 2 days prior to expiration an additional renewal notice is sent
- On the day of expiration an additional renewal notice is sent (always sent to admin and billing contact regardless of reseller association)
- 12 days after the expiration date an additional renewal/disable notice is sent (always sent to admin and billing contact regardless of reseller association)
- 30 days after the expiration date the domain terminated notice is sent (always sent to admin and billing contact regardless of reseller association)
Redemption Grace Period - Restore Process

If a domain is deleted for non-renewal and the operating registry supports redemption a restore
is possible, complete details regarding the restore process are detailed here.
Due to the significant costs and processing time required an additional $80.00
restore service fee is applied in addition to the selected renewal term.
