What is domain restoration?
After a domain name expires 4domains offers a 30 day grace period for you to
submit a renewal. After 30 days the domain is deleted and placed on
REDEMPTION PERIOD with the registry. This is a status set aside
for the original domain owner to reactivate the domain name. This can only be
processed through the original registrar and with the original contact details.
What Fees are involved?
This process requires both a renewal billed at normal 4domains rates, as well
as a $80 service fee to cover the registry fee and our processing of the request.
The registry charges registrars additional fees for the manual processing required.
What is the alternative to domain restoration?
If you do not select to restore the domain it will remain in REDEMPTIONPERIOD
for 30 days, and after that remain in a locked state for approximatly one week and
subsequently the domain would be deleted and released to the public for registration.
