Virtual Server Secure Shell Update

Due to a recently discovered root exploit in telnetd, our Systems Administrators have turned off Telnet access to all Virtual Servers (FreeBSD, Solaris, and BSD/OS). We apologize for the short notice, but due to the nature of the exploit, disabling Telnet access was the only course of action that will ensure the integrity of the servers. No other services were affected by this action.

We are actively working on a patch, and will inform you when the patch is in place and Telnet access is re-enabled.

In the meantime, if command-line Virtual Server access is needed, you can still use SSH to connect to your Virtual Servers. There are many SSH clients that can be downloaded from the Internet, some of which can be found at these Web sites:

When choosing an SSH client, be sure to choose one that supports the ssh1 protocol. The ssh2 protocol cannot be used to access the Virtual Servers.

Please contact our Support Staff, at support@bluehill.com, if you have any questions concerning this matter.
